Nashville Wedding Photography – David & Jessica

Sorry for the short blog post…July has been bananas over here at Phindy Studios!  We wanted to share a couple of our favorite images from David & Jessica’s wedding last month.  Seriously, how pretty are these two?  We will have more to come from their super awesome “day after” session that we just shot last week.  Until then, enjoy!

Key West Wedding Photography – Melorie & Art

Here are some shots from Melorie & Art’s amazing destination wedding earlier this month in Key West, Florida!  Let me start by saying this was without a doubt the hottest wedding in the history of weddings.  Not only was the wedding “hot” as Paris Hilton would say, it was HOT as in 100+ degree heat index and no coastal breeze!  It seriously felt like a sauna!  I remembering watching the weather station the night before and the little graphic for the next day was just the word “CRAZY”, bright red and flaming.  That was a very accurate forecast. Anyway, everyone was having so much fun we hardly noticed the heat.  The day was beautiful from beginning to end.  The couple had two ceremonies, one traditional Catholic ceremony in the most amazing old Spanish style church, and the other on a pier over the green blue waters of Key West.  After the ceremonies, there was dancing, fireworks and hand rolled cigars.  This trip to Key West was way too short, maybe next time we can play tourist and hang out a while.  So, without further blabbing, here are some of our favorite images:

This is the reason destination weddings are so amazing:

Charlottesville, VA Wedding – Brianna & Tony

So, a few weeks ago I had the awesome pleasure to travel up to Charlottesville, VA for Brianna & Tony’s amazing wedding at the historical Clifton Inn. As an added bonus I was shooting this one with Joy Marie, a great friend and amazing photographer. First off, I should say that I LOVE Charlottesville. It is actually a lot like Nashville but I am apparently not allergic to the trees that grow there which was a very good thing in the middle of allergy season. Anyway, Brianna & Tony (and all their guests) are great people. You could just tell they are going to have a beautiful life together. Clifton Inn was incredible, from the rooms to the food, everything was great. As you can see below it was hard to narrow these images down to a few favorites for the blog but i gave it my best shot, please leave us some comment love!!

Well, there you have it.  A great wedding, great location, and really great people.  Thanks guys! *Disclaimer: I am writing this post at 3:15am and you all know Mindy usually writes these things so if none of this makes sense then I can’t be held responsible:)

Amanda & Stephen’s Wedding – October 25, 2008

We are so excited to finally share Amanda & Stephen’s wedding.  We had so much fun shooting their engagement portraits, so we knew their wedding would be just as much fun and it definitely didn’t disappoint.

The ceremony was held at the beautiful Monroe Street United Methodist Church in Germantown.  Their reception was held at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel.  I would definitely suggest this as a reception spot to future couples.  They have a great permanent white tent in the back of the hotel.  It was beautiful and they kept it nice and toasty since it was freezing outside.   The entertainment for the reception was provided by Stephen and his band, local Nashville rock heroes, The Nobility.   We’ve known these guys for a while and it was fun to see a free show.

If you would like to register to view all of the images when they are ready, click here.   Here are a few to look at (actually a ton) until then.  Enjoy!

Here are a couple getting ready shots…Love the one Phil got of Stephen’s tie and boutonniere.

Another cute one of the bridesmaids.  Love the pencil skirts, pretty shirts & fabulous purple sashes that matched Amanda’s shoes.

Amanda and Stephen, thanks again for letting us be apart of your wedding.  We enjoyed every minute of it and we hope you guys love your photos.

Seth & Laura’s Wedding – July 11, 2008

Seth & Laura were married on July 11th. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding in Waverly, TN at the Humphreys County Museum & Civil War Fort. Everyone was in good spirits and we got some great outdoor shots despite the extreme heat. Props to the guys who toughed it out in suits! All in all it was a great day and we couldn’t have asked for better sunlight to work with. Seth & Laura, it was truly an honor to photograph your wedding. It’s been a pleasure getting to know you guys. Enjoy this sneak peek!

Beautiful couple, beautiful light.

Cool ring shot on Laura’s grandmother’s window seal. (sorry that’s a ton of possessive apostrophes)

Laura and her sisters looking G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S;)

Loved the groomsmen’s ties.

Can you believe this grooms cake?!? Yes, it’s a cake, not a real camera. It is by far the coolest we have ever seen and I’m sure ever will see.

Pretty dress details.

Love the flare in the first picture of Laura and her Dad.

Fabulous wedding cake by Billie’s Sugarworks. The orchids used on the cake were so pretty.

Sneek Peak – Stephen & Amanda – Engagement Session

OK, OK, I know its probably a spoiler to put just one lonely image up from the whole session but I just couldn’t wait. I started messing around with an image from this shoot as soon as we got home. This is just a teaser and hopefully we will have more from this fun session up in the next day or two.

The location was the pedestrian bridge downtown, the place Stephen proposed. We normally don’t get to do nighttime sessions so I was really excited to see how these turned out. More details coming soon.

Robbie & Cathryn’s Wedding – June 14, 2008

Robbie & Cathryn were married on June 14th at West Nashville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. It was a beautiful wedding and Robbie & Cathryn are a really cool couple. They had us laughing the whole day, it definitely felt a lot less like work (we love it when that happens!)

As you can imagine we are seriously busy in the midst of wedding season, but we managed to find time to blog a couple from last Saturday. Hopefully we will have time to put up a few more soon. Mindy snagged the shot of them running down the stairs, it is surely one of my favorites so far this year. Check ‘em all out below.

Cute one of Cathryn peeking around her Uncle to see Robbie when she first came down the aisle and the couple rushing downstairs to their reception.

While getting ready, Cathryn’s blackberry kindly reminded her that today was her wedding day (just in case she were to forget);)

Tony & Lindsey’s Wedding- May 2, 2008

Tony and Lindsey were married on May 2nd at Scarritt-Bennett in Nashville. It was such a beautiful wedding. Luckily not only does Scarritt-Bennett have beautiful outside grounds, but it’s not too shabby inside either. Despite the tornado warnings we were able to get some beautiful shots inside thanks to the incredible furniture and huge windows that gave us some great natural light. Here are a couple individual shots of the bride and groom…

Tony and Lindsey had one of the coolest receptions I have ever seen. It was in this great red barn at High Note Farm. It was so laid back and fun. The yummy food was catered by the Loveless Cafe. Here are a few shots from the reception:

Love this one of everyone jumping in to take care of Lindsey’s bustle. The second shot is of Tony and Lindsey riding to the reception in a beautiful Rolls Royce. It’s official, he’s got the marriage license in hand!

Mike & Samantha – February 2, 2008

We had so much fun shooting Mike and Samantha’s wedding last month. They are a beautiful couple and it’s so great to see them finally get married! They had a beautiful ceremony at Harpeth Heights Baptist Church. For the first time Phil and I actually lost it during a ceremony. And by lost it, I mean cried. I usually tend to get choked up being a girl and all, but this time it got us both. When it was time for Mike and Samantha to walk back down the aisle after being pronounced husband and wife, Mike turned around and picked up Samantha’s daughter, Kylee, and carried her down the aisle with them. It was such a great moment. After the ceremony we headed to the Old Natchez Country Club for the reception. Phil and I had our own reception there almost 3 years ago, so it brought back a lot of fun memories. Click here if you would like to register to view all the pictures from their wedding. Here are a few of our favorites -

Beautiful light and a beautiful bride!

Thanks for letting us be apart of your day. We hope you love your photos as much as we loved being there to take them!

Robyn & Anthony – October 27, 2007

Phil and I flew down to Naples, FL back in October to shoot the beautiful wedding of Robyn & Anthony. Robyn went to high school with Phil. They also went to their senior prom together. I REALLY wanted to blog their old prom picture, but it was voted against. It was my first time to meet Robyn and I could tell right away why they were such good friends. She is very funny and very sweet. Anthony is equally sweet and they make a great couple.

The setting was a beautiful country club, with an outdoor ceremony near the water. Here are a few of our favorite shots from the day. Click here to register to view all of their wedding photos.

The beautiful couple. I also really love this one of Robyn.

Blake & Chrissy

Blake and Chrissy were married on September 21st in a private ceremony. A couple weeks ago they had a beautiful fall themed reception for family & friends to celebrate their new marriage. It was held at one of our favorite venues, The Factory at Franklin.
Since we didn’t get to shoot their ceremony, we knew we had to grab some great shots before the reception. They are such a cool couple and we couldn’t wait to get some cute ones of just the two of them. I love Chrissy’s vintage style dress and how Blake looks decked out in his suit. Click here to view all of their pictures.

Here are a couple of our favorites!

Tabitha & Kyle – August 18, 2007

A couple weeks ago, Phil & I traveled down to Memphis to photograph Tabitha & Kyle’s wedding. I just have to say that Tabitha is one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen. She & Kyle are so sweet and you can see how much they love each other. I wish everyone had their dispositions. Even though it was 103 degrees outside and raining, and the air was out in the church, they held it together and maintained their sense of humor throughout the day. It made our jobs so much easier. We hope you guys love your photos as much as we loved taking them.

I love these pictures. The left shot was right after Kyle had seen Tabitha for the first time. It was just the two of them, and well… us, in the sanctuary. I love how Kyle is being gentle and just holding the side of her arm. The one on the right is the groom and his father working out the cuff links.

tabkyle1

The church had some beautiful stainglass windows, and since we dealt without using lights for most of the day due to the heat, they served for some beautiful natural light for some shots. The one on the right was later in the evening at Central Station, a really cool reception location/ train station. We love the green lights in the background and the really cool old station bench.

tabkyle2

The flowers were by Susan’s Florals out of Memphis. I love the silouette of Tabitha hanging onto the door of the trolley with her bouquet. All of the flowers were so pretty and I loved the simplicity of them.

tabkyle3

After the ceremony, we took a quick detour down to Mud Island to get some shots before the reception. Phil and I are always wanting to do something fun with the bridal party shots, and these girls were up to it. I said “jump” and they said “how high?”…literally.

tabkyle4

Another cute one of the girls…

tabkyle5

We ended the night getting just a few more of the bridal party. These pictures crack us up.

A huge thanks to Tabitha & Kyle, Mr. & Mrs. Luckett & Mr. & Mrs. Armstrong for letting us be apart of your day. We had a blast. Also, a huge thanks to Jaime with Social Butterflies for keeping us all organized.

Bonnie & Brett – August 4, 2007

My best friend since the 8th grade, Bonnie, was married last Saturday. She married a wonderful guy, Brett. I made the trip up to Fort Wayne, IN, without Phil, to go to the wedding. It was a fun and emotional weekend. I’m so happy for Bonnie and Brett and I wish them a lot of happiness! Here are a few of my favorite moments:

name_sign.jpg
Bonnie and Brett had posted these cute signs to lead everyone to the wedding site

flowers.jpg
Bonnie’s flowers were beautiful. They were made by a florist named Snow White. Turns out that was the florist’s legal name. How cool is that??

car.jpg
Brett’s Mom & Dad owned this great vintage car. Of course we had to take advantage of it as a backdrop for some great pictures.

Bonnie and Brett had a very sweet, intimate ceremony. I love how happy Bonnie looks in this picture.

Yep, they did it! They creamed each other with cake. It was hysterical.

Emil & Leslie – July 14, 2007

Here are a few of our favorite shots from our most recent wedding. Our good friends Emil and Leslie trusted us with the photography for their big day. The weather was perfect (a little warm but beautiful) and the setting was amazing. Ceremony and Reception were held in the beautiful St. George’s Episcopal Church in Belle Meade. Leslie was a gorgeous bride and Emil and his groomsmen looked super sharp in their serious seersucker suits (say that 5 times fast). Congratulations Emil and Leslie, we had a ton of fun!

Last weekend was a first for us…we’ve never had the opportunity to shoot such a personal and intimate wedding. Lori & Steve had a beautiful wedding inside a brand new home near Mt. Juliet, TN. Although it started out cloudy, we ended up getting some great shots outside at the end of their big day. Congratulations to the beautiful couple! Click here to view a slideshow!
