We had the joy of photographing Phil & Jennifer’s beautiful wedding last month at Cheekwood & Hermitage Hotel. These two are the sweetest and we had so much fun getting to know them prior to their wedding! Phil is from England and if you know us we are only slightly obsessed with anything British! Needless to say we had so much fun meeting both of their families and enjoying the British touches they added to their day. Everything from the British cab to the fabulous hats and even ended the night with British bacon sandwiches. Yum!
We were so excited that they also worked with so many amazing vendors. The flowers by Enchanted Florist were absolutely breathtaking and we couldn’t have made it through the day without Sarah with Music City Events!

In a quick follow up to the previous post below, we thought we’d share a couple shots from our fun trip to New York! The week after Harmit & Sraddha’s Nashville wedding, we flew up to New York to document their follow-up reception for their friends and family that were not able to make it down to Nashville! Getting to spend the end of October in Cabo San Lucas for Doug & Erin’s wedding was the best. After a full Fall of weddings here, it was nice to go somewhere tropical and warm! Almost a year had past since their engagement session and it was so fun to finally be in Mexico with them for their big day. :) Erin & Doug, thank you so much for letting us be a part of this special time. We had so much fun shooting Paul & Dianne’s wedding last October. It was held at Murray State University, where these two met! When we met with Dianne last year, we were so excited when she said that the wedding would be held at the beautiful Lovett Auditorium on campus. It’s an incredible old theater and we knew with her flare for the dramatic, that it would be a really cool wedding. These two have had a pretty tough year and as we have gotten to know them, they are definitely two of the strongest people that we know. We truly were honored to be a part of their day. We have had so much fun getting to know Trace & Danielle over the past year as they geared up for their wedding. They really are such a sweet & genuine couple. My favorite part about them is that they really do love being together. They love being together so much that when Trace had to move to Ethiopia while they were dating, they couldn’t stand the thought of being apart so Danielle quit her job and moved with him! Their wedding was very special and I’m so glad we were able to be a part of it.
Danielle has such a great sense of style that we had a blast shooting every detail! Her dress was designed & hand made by one of her best friends. I could have sworn it was an actual vintage dress, it was amazing. That was just the start…the bouquet was unlike anything we had ever seen before and her shoes were darling! The location for their wedding was also fantastic. Their ceremony was held at Land Between the Lakes and their reception was held at the Kuttawa Harbor House. Trace also managed to find this historic small chapel waaaay off the beaten path that they had their “first look” at. We had so much fun exploring and getting some beautiful shots of these two. Needless to say, we are in love with this couple and wedding. Enjoy a few of our favorites!

We are so excited to share Joel & Kristin’s beautiful wedding! They were married last month at the private residence of Joel’s parents right outside of Chattanooga. These two were so fun & up for anything. They braved the heat and it was totally worth it..they looked stunning and location was amazing! Joel swears his mom is not an interior decorator, but if she isn’t, she should be! Not only was the inside of their home so fun to shoot in, the outdoor ceremony was the absolute perfect setting for a wedding. We had trouble narrowing this one down folks, but we tried…enjoy!

Meredith and Steve had a beautiful wedding in St. Augustine Florida last spring and we are just now getting around to sharing some of our favorite images from the day. We toured the historic area with the couple and we were able to get some great shots at some incredible locations. St. Augustine is a beautiful old Spanish city, the oldest city in the U.S. in fact. There was no shortage of great locations to shoot even though I am sure this couple would have looked great anywhere!

Anthony & Michele were married in late August in a beautiful ceremony at Scarritt Bennett followed by a reception at Cheekwood. We really enjoyed getting to know them both at their wedding…up until her big day, Michele had been very busy studying for her Bar exam. She deserves a big congratulations for finishing that & getting married! When Ramona contacted us regarding her wedding we were instantly excited. She described some of the beautiful Persian traditions, like the knife dance (see below), and told us that her reception was going to be blast. Well, it definitely was! We met Ramona and Adib at the Hermitage Hotel in downtown Nashville for some couple shots around the area. It is seriously hard to take a bad photo of these two. A couple of weeks ago we got to leave the insane heat of Nashville to shoot the beautiful wedding of Jon & Jessica in Charlottesville, VA! We were so excited when they contacted us last year and told us they were getting married at Clifton Inn. This place is by far one of our favorite venues to shoot. The wedding was absolutely beautiful and I’m so glad that Jon & Jessica were able to have the outdoor ceremony they had waited so long for. Right after the ceremony the heavens opened up! Despite the rain, everyone had a blast and the day went off without a hitch. Huge thanks to Sheila Motley with The Event Company for keeping everything on track. Alex & Amy’s wedding was our first beautiful wedding of June! It was crazy hot but we lucked out because The Temple in Belle Meade is such a beautiful building to shoot in. A couple of weeks ago we had the great honor of going to the Dominican Republic to photograph Ryan & Julie’s destination wedding. Their beautiful wedding was held at the Dreams Resort - La Romana. Not only did we get to photograph their wedding but we also got to spend an afternoon photographing their “Day After” Session on the beach & at Altos de Chavon, which is insanely beautiful. We are so excited to share Brent & Tami’s wedding! Not only was it the perfect weather last Saturday but we also worked with some of our favorite vendors in town. It was such a beautiful day! The ceremony was held at Woodmont Christian Church in Green Hills and the ceremony was held at the Cannery Ballroom. We’ve had so much fun following Tami’s bridal blog over the past year as she has planned her wedding & it was awesome to see all of her hard work finally come together. A week ago today, Gary & Caroline were married. It will definitely go down as one of the most memorable weddings we will ever photograph. Last Saturday we showed up to Carnton Plantation only to realize that we would not be able to access it due to flooding. The bride, her sister & mom were stuck on the plantation along with the make-up/hair girls. Everyone else was on the outside, including the groom. The main goal was getting everyone to safety, so we all went our separate ways & waited.
Here is a short video we made while sitting at the blocked entrance to Carnton Plantation. As you can see in the video, there were also tourist who had been visiting the plantation that day stuck on the other side of the rapids. This was the only access road in and out of the plantation. We added some cheesy, somber music for effect!

We didn’t know if there would even be a wedding. Around 4pm we got the call that the wedding had been moved to St. Paul’s in downtown Franklin. We geared back up & headed out. It was crazy outside & was raining so incredibly hard. Downtown Franklin was already in the beginning stages of flooding. However, the only goal in every one’s mind was to get this couple married! All the vendors rallied together – the cakes made it there just fine, caterers arrived, the florist managed to gather some extra flowers since the original ones had been left at Carnton. I (Mindy) didn’t know what to expect when I saw Caroline for the first time. She had every right to be completely broken down but instead she met me with a big smile. She was just happy to be getting married. That set the tone for the rest of the night. Everyone there was in great spirits. It wasn’t the wedding they had envisioned for the past year but Gary & Caroline would be Garoline by the end of the night and that was all that mattered. This is why we love these guys so much, when a lot of brides would be in tears, Caroline was cracking us up and kept her sense of humor!

There was no music during the reception, so friends jumped in to provide a little entertainment. At one point the guest were singing and dancing to “All You Need is love” on the piano…it was perfect. Oh, and thank goodness for iPods!

We shot Casey & Laura’s lovely wedding back in the fall. At their wedding we ran into one of the unfortunate hurdles of shooting…rain. They had a pretty large bridal party and Phil and I had scouted and planned for some awesome shots that were not able to happen due to the weather. So, what are we to do? Well, we waited until the rain stopped & got the entire bridal party out in to the middle of an empty street to shoot a composite shot. All of this done with just one speedlight Check out the final image below!
Ryan & Casey had a beautiful winter themed wedding this past December at Union Station. It was so fun getting to photograph a Christmas wedding…I loved all the reds & unique addition to the flowers like pine cones & berries. These two definitely knew how to incorporate their personalities into the day as well. Check out the special guest that showed up during the reception & also the details on the wedding cake. Can you tell these two are HUGE Predators fans?? Casey & Ryan, you guys were awesome to work with! We will miss you and your “Jersey Shore” fist bumps Enjoy a few of our favorites!

We’re almost to the end of posting all of our 2009 weddings! Up next is Brian & Liz We love these two…they are probably some of the most laid back people we have ever met, which is just our style. We were so excited when we had dinner with them at Cabana last spring (remember that season that ISN’T winter?) and they asked us to photograph their wedding. We knew right then that their wedding would be a blast! Matt & Chandra were married in a beautiful fall wedding at Cedarwood. The staff at Cedarwood did an amazing job adding touches of the tropics to everything from the flowers to the cake. It was seriously one of the prettiest weddings I have ever been to. It was also one of the most fun Matt & Chandra, you guys have amazing hearts & senses of humor. We first met Laura and Casey at a mutual photographer friend’s house about a year ago. We knew we’d love these guys right from the start. They are both creative AND fellow Mississippians! These two super talented photographers run Lovely Union out of Tupelo, MS. and Casey is also a great graphic designer. They have such an amazing sense of humor and are really down to earth, which definitely showed in their wedding. Needless to say we were extremely pumped about traveling down to Tupelo, MS for their big day. This sneak peek will be a 2-parter. Bosh (or Jocca?) had a brunch garden wedding at the beautiful CJ’s Off the Square this past September. You might remember this amazing couple from their engagement session a few months back. This wedding was so much fun. We don’t do many brunch weddings, but we loved it! The weather wouldn’t quite cooperate, but the great thing about CJ’s is that rain or shine, everything is going to look great. The colors were so bright and vibrant, we loved the navy and green/yellow color palette. The other great thing about a brunch wedding, you ask? A killer coffee bar put pep in everyone’s step and the food was amazing Enjoy some of our favorite shots.
Josh and his groomsmen played the classic game of “Let’s see how long we can go without wearing our pants!”. They made it “pantless” right up until the ceremony!

It was our first time shooting there and I must say, if you are looking for a small, intimate venue for your wedding, they are definitely worth checking out. What happens when a seriously cool bride books you on the spot, is super excited about having you shoot the wedding and then, last minute, has to change the location of the wedding from Tennessee to Nashua, NH? Well, if that bride is Jessica then she buys her photographers a plane ticket and gets their butts there! And man, are we glad she did! Mindy and I had never been to the great state of New Hampshire so we were really excited about making the trip. We even built in an extra day so that we could see the nearby Boston and Salem (one day we will process some of our personal travel photos and share them with everyone). Anyway, TJ & Jessica are such a great couple and we think it shows in their photos. We had perma-smiles while doing the post-processing on these images. Their wedding and reception were a lot of fun. Happy Friday!! I am so excited to share with you Andrew & Rose’s wedding. They were married this Fall at Union Station in a beautiful ceremony officiated by Andrew’s grandfather. He is a full blown Air Force Colonel, so for those of you who know us, that was pretty exciting, especially for Phil. Andrew is currently serving in the army and it was very touching how that was incorporated into the day. These are two very special & sweet people and we could not have been more honored to be apart of their day. Rose, you are crazy talented (she made the majority of her jewelry & bridesmaid jewelry, added the details to the top of her dress, made her hair clip…pretty much put her touch on every detail!) and we look forward to seeing what you do in the future

Jeff & Jamie were one of the few blessed with a beautiful fall wedding this year. The sun was out the entire day and everything went off without a hitch. I love how these two incorporated their style & passions into their wedding day. From Jamie’s awesome vintage inspired dress, the swanky black dresses of the bridesmaids, the pops of bright fall colors & last but not least, their love of football Enjoy a few of our favorites!

We were so stinkin’ excited when we met with Ryan & Jessica and they said that they had booked the Hutton Hotel for their wedding. This super new swanky hotel in downtown Nashville is so fun with so many great places to shoot. We decided to make this post chock full of images from our time with the bride & groom (well, and an additional detail shot) Yes, and for the record that second shot was taken in a girls bathroom in the Hutton! Hey, whatever works

Chuck & Corinne were married in an amazing wedding last month at a private home in Murfreesboro. We had the most incredible 72 degree weather and then to top the night off they had Super T! Paul & Jennifer were married last month at the beautiful Church of the Assumption in Germantown and then had an awesome reception at Belle Meade Plantation. It was a perfect day, start to finish.
